My Venture into Podcasting Continues

In “Pushing Back,” the first book in the Boone series, the teenaged Boone Hammond finds himself on his own after a disastrous weekend tears his family apart. The podcast, done in weekly installments, is up to Chapter Seven.

The newest installment of Boone’s story finds him taking the truck out on the road for the first time, taking stock of his meager assets, and trying to come up with a believable story for when the inevitable questions about his father’s absence start coming. As always, this chapter, along with the first six, can be found at:

Thanks, and stay in touch.

A career working with teenagers on the fringes of society has made me both sensitive to and appreciative of the complexities of character and the struggles, inner and outer, that we all wrestle with in one form or another. My writing emphasizes character development over action, and, as a lifelong Southerner, the rhythms and cadence of the Southeastern United States influence both my spoken and written voice.
